Charlie

We got a puppy! My little dream puppy! For the past couple years I have been addicted to looking on Craigslist at the pet section. I always type in Cavalier and another local shelter that list the status of all their animals. I have sent hundreds of postings to Joey over the years always stuck on Roxy needing a friend. Well, 2 1/2 weeks ago I saw an add for a group of rescued cavaliers. Whether Joey was joking or not, he convinced me to contact the lady. The next thing I know I am driving up to Oklahoma to meet 2 male Cavalier King Charles puppies. I sat with the lady at the Casino gas station for over an hour debating which puppy I wanted to take home. She was trying to tell me to just call Joey and say "Surprise it's twins!!!"... but my brain did kick in and I knew better then that. In the end I decided to go with the shy little boy with the adorable expressive eyes. It was love at first site! Plus I thought he would be less likely to make Cowboy (the cat) mad! So far Charlie is settling in great! He even got to meet Stephanie and Paul's son Wesley (at 3 weeks old). He didn't bother him at all! Roxy on the other hand was jumping up on Paul trying to figure out what the heck that lump in his arms was! (Yes, Roxy the one who is terrified of men!) I think Charlie will be the perfect fit for our family!

We are Married!

Guess What!!! I have a husband. I still can't fathom this word. I barely got use to fiance and now we are husband and wife! The wedding was more than I could have even imagined. I had more fun then I had had in years! I was so grateful to get to be with all my friends and family and meet all of Joey's relatives. Everyone was so wonderful. I can't thank my parents enough for making my day so perfect!

So how have things been going for the past 2 weeks. Well, first of all I can't get rid of him! No really he wont go home. Someone forgot to inform me that my home was now his home. It is fun getting to see Joey so much and I still have some time to myself. But it is weird that he doesn't leave to go to another house, he doesn't go hang out somewhere else... just upstairs to do his homework.

As most of you know Joey and I chose not to live together before marriage. Looking back I am not sure if I still like this decision. I wouldn't have changed anything. But I might suggest my friends try living with the person before say "yes" to the rest of your life! So what am I saying. I love being married don't get me wrong, but there sure are a lot of things you learn when you actually live with the person. Little irritants that were not noticeable before living together. Like I cannot for the life of my remember to turn off the bathroom light when I leave it... and my wonderful husband Joey picked up this new habit of not putting the seat down even after daily reminders. As I think about things I know that neither one of us do these little things to irritate the other but we are both so use to living by ourselves, being able to clean up as we please and not having to be accounted for.

So, what do I love about marriage? I love just hanging out with Joey. Not even talking but just sitting in the same room. I love that I know he is coming home to spend time with me, and that I will get to see him everyday. The strangest thing that I have enjoyed is waking up early just to make him a lunch. Now most people know that I am a night owl and barely function in the morning so this is a huge thing for me. But I love being there for Joey whether he realizes my effort or not.

I know this is just the beginning of an extremely long wonderful marriage. I look forward to all the memories we have and will make with one another.

We are buying a house!

Joey and I are buying a house. We are supposed to close on June 6, 2008. It has been very exciting! The house is located at 593 Raintree Circle Coppell, TX which is half way between my work and Joey's work. It is 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. We are still waiting for the financing and all a the paper work to go through. Here are a few pictures from the seller's website!
